It is. An old friend of mine recently came to the city. I discovered that he lost his custom saxophone during an unauthorized police raid, as was the norm back then. His situation prevented him from pursuing its recovery, and its loss pains him even today.
[This must be a very old friend indeed. Connect the dots, Jusis.]
I asked Mr. Vittore to track it down for me. He was kind enough to waive the fees involved, so it's only payment for what it took to convince the owner to part with it. A straightforward transaction.
Finding things has never been my friend's forte, though he has a talent for arriving at the right place at the right time. It was imperative that I recover this for him as no one else would.

I see. You clearly care a great deal for him. Is he a musician?
For the record, this invoice will be taken care of without delay and with no further questioning. I can understand wanting to do this for someone you care about. I believe I can cover this cost myself rather than have the Order do it. Just keep in mind that I won't do that for every purchase.
[Jusis has to do some math, but he thinks it won't hurt him too much to cover the cost with his personal funds instead of the Order's. This is a precious gift that shouldn't be tainted by Zhongli's debt with them.]

[Zhongli is genuine when he compliments people, so uh, wow. Perfectly heterosexual behavior going on in here.]
That's incredibly kind of you, Jusis. You have my thanks.
[And thus another debt that Zhongli should pay... is paid by someone else.]
He named it "Der Messingdrache". My grasp of German is a little out of date, but does that mean "the brass dragon", by any chance?
no subject
I understand, then. I'd be glad to hear him perform someday, given the high regard he has from you.
It does, indeed, translate to English as 'the brass dragon.' Your friend is quite knowledgeable of the German language. Does he happen to be a native speaker?

My friend is German and Welsh if memory serves. Still, to name it that... I'm sure he thought it was a funny joke at the time.
no subject
[Well. This confirms his other suspicion of Zhongli being a dragon.
On one hand, this is so obviously gay and sweet that Jusis can see it. On the other hand, he doesn't know this guy very well.]
Are you certain it was a joke and not a way to remember you as he played? I can't claim to know him, of course, as Elliot is the closest I have as a reference point.
no subject
... I didn't consider that. We hadn't seen each other for quite some time, even back then.
[And yet.]
But the color isn't right.
no subject
Perhaps it's an homage. Or perhaps he hasn't found one to be worthy of... Whatever color dragon you are.
[How the fuck did he become a wingman, here. This is absurd.]
You could ask him. Or you could ask Elliot Craig, if you'd rather not confront him about it. He tends to understand the importance of names for instruments.

[Jusis is trying so hard but he'd have better luck getting a brick wall to date someone.]
I can ask him. My friend is nothing if not a little mischievous, however, so if I don't get a good answer I may just contact Mr. Craig after all.
[He'd been a bit upset last time they spoke. Hopefully Elliot is doing a little better now.]
no subject
I believe that's a fair way to go about it. At any rate, please give my regards, and I'm glad you were able to find his instrument.
no subject
I shall.
Thank you, Jusis.
